Department: President's Office Classification: MP-III Budget Title: Assistant Vice President Duties: The State University of New York at New Paltz invites applicants for the position of Assistant Vice President for Research Funding and Economic Development. This is a full-time, full-year, management confidential (MC) position, reporting directly to the President. We seek to significantly grow expenditures in sponsored and grant funding and economic development that directly supports our mission as well as the scholarship and creative work of faculty. We invite applicants who are accomplished administrators with sound understanding of the mission of a comprehensive public university and demonstrated knowledge of sponsored program administration. In addition, we seek an innovative and entrepreneurial leader who will work with colleagues across the University to explore and plan strategic engagement with public and private partnerships that will grow our contributions to economic development and social impact in our local and regional communities. The successful candidate will supervise staff within the Department of Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance which supports the full life cycle of sponsored program administration from identification of funding sources, writing and review of submission, pre-award, post-award, staffing and compliance. The Assistant Vice President will work with campus colleagues to understand the University's strategic aspirations and provide vision and leadership that positions us to be a partner of choice for innovation and economic impact.
