Advanced Perioperative Coordinator RN - Neurosurgery - Full Time/Days
SUMMARY: This position is accountable for serving as a consultant in the care of peri-operative patients and functions as an expert practitioner and role model by utilizing the nursing process to provide care to complex patients. The incumbent provides patient, family, and staff education; leadership in identifying and reviewing nursing clinical practice and procedures, equipment and processes that will enhance clinical operations and patient care outcomes. Serves as a patient and family advocate. The Perioperative Coordinator creates, implements, and evaluates developmentally/culturally appropriate education to meet the learning needs of the patient/family.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN)
Minimum 3 years full time or equivalent current pediatric clinical experience required
Bilingual skills desirable
BLS HeartCode required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
