The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. Position Summary The Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead various analysis initiatives for the Pension Administration System (PAS) utilizing a high degree of knowledge in the overall field of business analysis. This position will be called upon to run problem-solving assignments which frequently require resolution of highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. These scenarios will include highly complex issues in one or more areas of specialization. This work can include bug fixes, new features, enhancements, and documentation of these and other processes, workflows, and input/requirements. They will recommend and may select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Additionally, they will utilize interpersonal skills to obtain requirements and support programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. This role supports the overall work of the PAS teams and assists in fostering an inclusive environment under the direction of the Product Manager. This position may be required, with notice, to provide remote on-call support during off hours. Occasional travel may be required with notice. Flexible work arrangements are available. Key Responsibilities 30% Analysis: Performs complex analysis of business and user needs- Evaluate business and user needs to translate into system and process requirements- Considers implications of applying technology and process changes- Investigate system and process defects to understand root cause- Lead cross-functional teams to analyze issues or evaluate changes- Complete risk analysis for requested system and process changes and enhancements- Facilitate mitigation of risks and remediation- Prioritizes issues and requirements 30% Documentation: Document business and user requirements- Create technical system and process specifications- Generate process flow diagrams of system and business processes- Document defects, issues, and risks for systems and processes- Complete necessary documentation for change management process. 20% Design and Change: Develop process changes to meet business and user requirements- Create integration plans for changes and enhancements- Generate acceptance testing plans and scenarios- Create or modify procedures to support business and system processes- Implement system changes to applications and processes- Adhere to change management procedures. 20% Soliciting Information and Communication: Interview business partners for requirements, challenges, and requests- Interact with vendors to manage integrations, changes, and issues- Facilitate meetings with other UCOP departments to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes- Participate in strategy sessions to alter or create policies, processes, and procedures- Monitors and helps drive progress of cross-functional teams. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
