![]() Director, Ph.D. Student Financial Operations About the Opportunity This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. SUMMARY Reporting to the Vice Provost for Finance & Administration in the Office of the Provost's Finance and Administration group, the Director, Ph.D. Student Financial Operations will lead the strategic development, implementation and maintenance of graduate student financial processes and systems. These projects will require an organizational systems perspective and will often span multiple university stakeholders and customers. The Director will work closely with leadership and staff across the university to analyze business-critical systems, identify areas for improvement, and proactively develop and implement solutions. The Director will also be responsible for all matters related to PhD funding including internal and external fellowship funding, the nomination and selection process, daily management, creation, oversight and improvement of specific business processes, including, but not limited to: Ph.D. payment processing (fellowship and assistantships), tracking and reporting, charging of Ph.D. stipends to grants, and implementation of a university-wide process to charge Ph.D. tuition to grants. This work involves partnering with stakeholders, including the Deputy Provost, Vice Provost for Finance and Administration, and Vice Provost for the Ph.D. Network, to understand existing processes and business needs to define a framework, as well as working with key partners to design the appropriate and actionable solutions. As part of the finance and administration team, the Director will create executive-level reports on all aspects of a project, including creating both financial and non-financial dashboards.
