The Division of Hematology and Oncology and Genetic Medicine are two of thirteen divisions within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School. The division of Hematology and Oncology has a total of 97 instructional, clinical, VA and research track faculty, 21 fellows, over 100 staff, an active clinical operation with over 91,000 completed outpatient visits, 1300 inpatient cases and over $30 million in annual sponsored research funding. The Division of Genetic Medicine has a total of 15 instructional, clinical, research track faculty four of which are clinical and research active genetic counselors. The faculty support both medical and cancer genetic clinics, have completed 2050 visits and generated approximately $2.5 million annually in sponsored research funding.
Financial Ensure the Division maintains strong fiscal health across all missions (clinical care, research funding, and teaching programs) by the following:
Research Administration In partnership with the finance manager, directs the Division's research administration functions, including financial activities (pre-/post-award), submission and reconciliation processes, and identification of new funding opportunities
Clinical Operations Collaborate with department, ambulatory and hospital leaders to ensure facilities and units are high-functioning and allow clinicians to provide the best care and research opportunities for our patients
Human Resources & Faculty Affairs Ensure our faculty and staff have adequate resources and support to perform at their best
Department of Communication, Office of Patient Experience, Physician Relations & Outreach Work closely with leadership from Department of Communication, Office of Patient Experience, and Physician Relations & Outreach

Supervision Provided: Direction is given to the division's finance manager (including pre and post award), business manager, fellowship coordinator, clinical liaison, BMT/CART program manager and administrative support. Supervision Received: Direction is received from the Chief Administrative Officer, actions subject to approval only on matters that affect the overall purpose and function of academic programs, research and/or patient care operations.
