![]() Financial Analyst 2 (FINANCIAL ANL 2) Job Summary #CA-SS The Department of Surgery is the largest surgical department in the School of Medicine with an expense budget over $60 million and revenue generation over $75 million annually. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of University, campus, and UCDHS fiscal and accounting policies, procedures, practices, and organization. Additionally, this position manages the processing of financial reporting, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, processing of academic payroll, and payroll reconciliation for staff and faculty. This position also provides work direction and training to other Admin Assistants working in the Finance Unit. This position must maintain a work schedule during core business hours and provide additional time as needed to meet project deadlines and operational needs. This position provides analytical support in all areas of fiscal management, as assigned, for the Department of Surgery. Financial responsibilities include financial administration, billing and collections, accounts payable/receivable, travel processing, department contracts, cash collection, gift management/processing, account set-up, payroll, and ledger reconciliation. This position is required to interpret policy and procedure guidelines to ensure compliance. Independently organizes and determines work priorities to accommodate all deadlines. Responsible for accurately maintaining extensive files, including back-up documentation for all transactions by account. Department Description The Department of Surgery encompasses a wide variety of surgical specialties. These include bariatric surgery, burn surgery, colorectal surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, endocrine surgery, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, transplant surgery, trauma, acute care and surgical critical care surgery, vascular surgery, and oncologic surgery. The Department's extensive surgical expertise, in combination with ongoing teaching and research activities, provide ample resources and advanced surgical techniques for patient care.
