THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities Under direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences Development and Alumni Relations (HSDA), and in collaboration with the SON Dean (or designee), the position designs, develops, implements, and administers fundraising programs for the School of Nursing. Identifies new donor prospects through researching background information on potential donors and directs development of materials and marketing plans. Directs the organizing of related fundraising program/events; cultivates, solicits, and. stewards major gift donor prospects. The incumbent maintains a portfolio of donor prospects that include influential, complex, and highly rated donors. Has authority to make decisions regarding program design and development strategies. Position works with the AVC of HSDA to develop programs and other external relations functions, such as events as deemed appropriate, volunteer coordination, and development of marketing activities. The Managing Senior Director of Development for the SON is responsible and accountable for the overall management of a fundraising program for key areas of the SON, including overseeing and managing the implementation of long-term and short-term fundraising strategies to advance capital, research, and programmatic priorities and program goals to build endowments. The incumbent is expected to spearhead annual growth in major gift giving, including the oversight and management of all fundraising administration, and managing a prospect portfolio of 75-150 active, high capacity donors and prospects. The incumbent will develop and manage close working relationships with academic leadership, faculty, staff, volunteers, and donors, and is responsible for developing their leadership and fundraising skills through involvement and engagement. The Managing Senior Development Director develops and executes a major gifts program focusing on identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects and donors. Additionally, the Managing Senior Development Director develops, coordinates, and supports the work of volunteers to support the academic and research missions and goals of SON, as they undertake donor cultivation or solicitations in accordance with planned strategies. Provides leadership and supports volunteer boards, advisory groups, donor clubs, and fundraising committees. Creates opportunities for volunteers to develop their leadership and fundraising skills through training, professional seminars, one-on-one interactions, and participation in face-to-face solicitations.
