$5,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months).

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Duke Signature Care clinic located at 3475 Erwin Rd. Durham NC 27705. Duke Signature Care is a concierge internal medicine practice and primary care medical home. Smaller patient panels allow our physicians to spend more time with patients (adults 18 yrs. and older) during the clinic visit. The medical assistant is an integral member of the healthcare team and provides direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, and other clinical information as indicated.

• Perform telephone message taking, encounter documentation

• Administer medications to patients within scope and as ordered following the six rights of medication administration.

• Assists providers with procedures such as wound dressings, pap smears, etc.

• Participates in performance improvement projects.

• Performs tasks such as set up for clinical procedures, EKG's, medication injections, lab draws, and other miscellaneous appropriate tasks within scope of practice.

• Attain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.

• High school or GED graduation required.

• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.  Please indicate on resume which certification you have, the certification number, and expiration date.

• BLS required

JOB HOURS:

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
