Licensed Vocation Nurse - Pediatric Float Team - Per Diem Nights (Long Term/Temporary) SUMMARY: This position is accountable for providing proficient direct and indirect nursing care of patients/families assigned under the direction and supervision of a physician and/or Registered Nurse. LVN practice is performed within the scope of LVN licensure and in accordance with Valley Children's policies. The Float Pool (or Central Staffing/House Resource Pool) Department consists of employees who care for patients across the hospital. This staff work on every unit providing treatment throughout the continuum of care. The team members take a variety of core classes so they can provide optimal care to all patients. Team members get assigned to units to back-fill sick calls, leaves and to supplement during times of patient census surge. They are a unique group of individuals who love to float in and out of units on a daily basis and sometimes to a variety of units during one shift. They are some of the most flexible people in the organization, as their role requires them to jump in and help regardless of the location of the patient. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a high school diploma as well as successful completion of an LVN program. Active California LVN license and a minimum of 1 year of related healthcare experience if required. One year experience working as an LVN is preferred. BLS HeartCode required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position. Bilingual skills preferred. POSITION DETAILS: Per Diem, Night Shift. Please note: Must be available to work a minimum of 2 days per week (2 x 11.5-hour shifts), long-term temporary position. Must also be available to complete one-week (Mon-Fri/8 am to 5 pm) hospital orientation during first week and then work full time hours (3 x 11.5-hour shifts for first 2 weeks after that for unit orientation).
