Position Information: The WPP Rehab Continuum Patient Account Representative (PAR) position is responsible for making sure that all necessary actions are taken to ensure that the patient's administrative needs are accurately handled from point of entry into the rehab program through discharge from the program(s). The Rehab PAR provides excellent customer service to include welcoming and greeting patients, staff, providers, and visitors, both in person and on the telephone. The PAR optimizes patient /referral satisfaction and provider time by resourcefully scheduling appointments in person or by telephone. The Rehab PAR is responsible for complete and accurate data collection associated with the preregistration/registration of all rehab outpatients and inpatients. The Rehab PAR is responsible for all clerical/administrative duties such as but not limited to: answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, referral management, managing and scheduling appointments, managing resource schedules, front office management, medical record management, obtaining pre-certifications/authorizations, verifying benefits, and point of service collections in a professional and timely manner. Position ensures that the data collected allows patient treatment to proceed without undue delay and conforms to regulatory compliance requirements. Position is responsible for clerical and administrative support to the clinical staff to ensure seamless department operations. Stays current with organizational and insurance industry changes including Medicare, Medicaid and managed care and applies knowledge to job duties. Maintains contact with other departments and referral sources for insurance related changes in contracts, policies and procedures.
Experience Requirements: 6 Months Customer Service Required - And Training Healthcare And 1 Year Healthcare Required - Or Equivalent Education and Experience 1 Year Accounting/Finance - Third Party Payors Preferred
Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Associate's Degree Business Administration Or Associate's Degree Related Field Preferred
