Department Summary University of Michigan (U-M) Student Life (SL) facilitates transformational student experiences by advancing student learning and development, fostering well-being, and cultivating an inclusive and equitable campus community. U-M University Health Service (UHS), a unit of Student Life, is a AAAHC-accredited outpatient multispecialty health clinic that serves a large and diverse student body of more than 50,000 students, as well as U-M faculty and staff. UHS provides direct patient care through its primary care and specialty clinics, pharmacy, diagnostics services, as well as public health and epidemiologic surveillance. Annually UHS completes >90,000 clinician visits, >4,900 radiologic studies, >43,000 laboratory tests, and fills >25,000 prescriptions. UHS has a hybrid funding model: approximately 80% of the $27.0 million budget is funded through a capitated student health service fee, and fee-for-service revenue accounts for the remaining 20%. UHS reports administratively to the AVP of Student Life for Health and Wellness, who also serves as the Chief Health Officer. UHS uses the same instance of the Epic EMR (MiChart) as Michigan Medicine. UHS is located on the U-M central campus adjacent to downtown Ann Arbor and historic State Street. Job Summary The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the daily management of the administrative, supervision and operational activities of the UHS Laboratory, a CLIA-waived high complexity lab performing hematology, immunochemistry, serology, bacteriology, parasitology, molecular PCR testing and urinalysis. Collaborate with all UHS departments, Michigan Medicine, and outside agencies to ensure patient, clinician and organizational needs are met. Operations & Administration (60%)
