The Office of Radiation Protection (ORP) is working to ensure the public is protected from harmful effects and unnecessary exposure to ionizing radiation.
This position links to the organizational mission to protect public health in three ways.
This is a full-time, permanent Radiation Health Physicist 2 (RHP2) position working out of the Tumwater, WA duty station. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected, it is anticipated that the incumbent would be expected to be at the Tumwater duty station for work activities 1-2 days quarterly, and fieldwork is expected 3-4 days a month.

Required Qualifications Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.
Option 1: One year as a Radiation Health Physicist 1
OR
Option 2: Two (2) years in an official radiation control program.
NOTE: An official radiation control program is a radiation control program that is large enough to devote full-time staff to the review and control of the use of ionizing radiation with the intent of limiting and reducing human exposure to radiation.
Computer Skills: Experience should include practical skills in MS Excel for spreadsheet tasks, database management, MS Word for document creation and formatting, and Microsoft Outlook or similar email systems for electronic correspondence.
