Position Summary:

Essential Functions:

• Oversees Instructional Design consultants
• Directs team to research technological developments in teaching and learning and communicates that work to the faculty.
• Leads and participates in planning, implementing and coordinating training.
• Assists in developing and implementing faculty 'self help and self study' programs
• Develops Develops training curricula and implementation both for faculty

• Actively meets, plans, and co-teaches with classroom teachers using a variety of educational technology tools as needed
• Participates in the design, coordination, staffing and delivery of educational technology workshops, and research and/or provides individual training opportunities for teachers to ensure the best use of technology
• Develops and delivers instruction around all areas of Education Technology
• Confers with management to determine the need for new technology resources
• Develops and implements a procedure for the evaluation of software, hardware, and courseware, and for the sharing of results of such evaluation
• Works with the rest of the team and the IT Communications Manager on the continual development and reorganization of the internal website and resources
• Addresses questions from the parent/student community that may arise by creating information pages (FAQ's, fact sheets etc.) on the external website
• Participates in extracurricular events related to ed tech as needed
• Consults with faculty, in general, on implementing best practices in using technology, as needed
• Provides assistance to faculty in development of technology-based teaching methods and materials
• Provides 'one on one' and leads small group technology training sessions
• Supervises/manages graduate and undergraduate student assistants
• Curates and creates training materials to accommodate self-learners and provides resources for faculty
• Acts as an information point regarding the latest technological development and trends in education and scholarship

• Provides instructional design consultation for teaching with technology in fully online, hybrid or blended learning environments
• Provides professional guidance to faculty on designing, producing and maintaining instructional content for the most effective delivery of course materials
• Researches and communicates on new technological developments in teaching and learning
• Researches new instructional technologies for viability within instructional/classroom setting and advise management on equipment and training needs
• Makes appropriate recommendations to departments and/or the campus regarding IT equipment purchases
• Occasionally works as a course designer, helping faculty design, develop and produce media elements for courses and other projects

• Ensures the Educational Technology team provides Tier-3 support of Blackboard Learn, Fordham's Learning Management System, among other Educational Technology tools and that tickets and emails are closed and routed correctly
• Ensures training to Tier 1 and 2 support on Blackboard, Panopto, and other teaching technologies at the university is provided as required

• Managerial responsibility within a function, with responsibility for setting expectations, defining roles and coaching team members, hiring and staffing, staff development and succession
• Challenges and enhances analytical approaches or tools
• Reviews and validates analysis, and develops recommendations in context of functional area or full project
• Facilitates constructive communication across the team
• Ensures team awareness of and familiarity with industry

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of degree, 7+ years relevant experience
• 7+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Demonstrated understanding of Fordham's culture and environment, as well as the technical, business and cultural environment of higher education in general
• Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Planning and designing complex systems architectures, specifications and applications
  • Vendor management, determination of needs, RFP, etc.
  • Execution of project plans and delivery of results
  • Developing innovative solutions to align with University strategy

Minimum Salary: $81,600

Maximum Salary: $102,000
