The position has sole responsibility for business services to the Department of Dance.
Serves as Assistant to the Department Chair.
Management/Oversight of all department budgets.
Management and logistics for public performance related events.
Procurement, purchasing and p-card; responsible for purchases, reporting and maintaining records.
Coordinates travel for faculty and staff.
Serves as liaison to the CAHSS Shared Services Center.
Manages student awards.
Trains and supervises federal work study students.
Acts as a liaison to central offices of the university, UMBC, sponsoring agencies, vendors, current and prospective students and their families as well as the general public.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelors Degree and two years of administrative staff work.
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to operate office equipment, computers, and related software, to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of college-level accounting or related courses preferred.
Experience in a combination of budgeting, accounting, purchasing and grant and/or contract management.
Skills in planning work, supervising others, organizing and executing multiple assignments under specific time constraints.
Understanding and interpreting university policies & procedures in finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing.
Ability to prepare and present budgetary, accounting, and other reports and schedules.
