The Mellon College of Science (MCS) is home to four departments and many programs and research centers that cross disciplines. MCS faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research in a variety of fields, including polymer science, cosmology, mathematical finance, and neuroscience. The Department of Biological Sciences within the Mellon College of Science is seeking a full-time Research Associate I to work in the laboratory of Dr. Liz Ransey. The Ransey Lab explores the structure and functions of gap junctions, vital cell signaling channels implicated in diseases like cancer. Our focus is on characterizing and reengineering connexin proteins - the main structural components of these junctions. We aim to use these insights to develop innovative probes and therapeutic devices. We seek a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to complete guided experiments and assist with the day-to-day operations in the lab.
