![]() Referral & Credentialing Specialist Available Title(s): 107I-YN_CS_NPS - Program Specialist 2 Business Title: Referral & Credentialing Specialist Employee Type: Classified Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Referral and Credentialing Specialist coordinates all aspects of the referral and authorization process. Create processes and set goals to ensure patient referrals are provided accurately and in a timely manner. Serve as a liaison between Cougar Health Services, patients, and local and out of area medical, dental, and ancillary service providers. Assist patients, staff, and outside organizations to ensure that patients referred for outside care are advised of current medical insurance requirements as they relate to authorization of medical services and referrals to specialist or ancillary services. Select/recommend alternative courses of action when required and monitor referral program activities to determine consistency with CHS goals. Assist patients in obtaining fees for referral services. The Referral and Credentialing Specialist coordinates new and current credentialing and re-credentialing for all contracted insurance companies. Manage the on-line credentialing source ProviderSource to upload and input CHS health care provider credentialing and privileging data; assist and remind health care providers when they need to attest and re-attest to certify their individual data.
