Department Nursing Staffing OfficeFloat Pool is made up of nurses and certified nurse aids (CNAs) who are proficient and competent in all medical/surgical areas at Denver Health. In addition, we have specialized teams for women and children departments, critical care and emergency departments, and acute care departments.Job SummaryUnder minimal supervision, assists in developing and implementing initial training, future training and care team development programs for assigned areas. Conducts ongoing education for the team and is responsible for assuring the competency of the professional nurse and unlicensed personnel in those assigned areas. Evidence of competency is reviewed and documented at least annually and is based upon the most recent evidence and best practices. Lead the departments evidences base orientation program. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing practice / process and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics (2015)* to provide care to all healthcare consumers. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes.
