Job Description PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI), Mechanical Engineering (MechE), to coordinate key programs and priorities for advancing diversity equity and inclusion (DEI), with an emphasis on initiatives for students and postdocs. Will assist in evaluating, developing, implementing, and iterating on new programs to advance DEI; provide support in compiling regular updates from action groups tasked to DEI-related projects for monitoring and reporting; manage logistics and schedule diverse and complex appointments/meetings/seminars/events/conferences; track key program metrics; oversee web pages; present program trainings and talks; and handle a variety of finance/administration duties. Job Requirements REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in a related field; two years' administrative and/or project management experience in a university setting working with faculty, students, postdocs, and administration; excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills; flexibility when changing, reprioritizing, or shifting focus/goals; discretion and judgment with confidential issues/information; interest in principles of DEI; cultural competence in working with communities of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of various faiths/non-faith, abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and other diverse populations; excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; and experience with database software. Must be able to build productive work relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds/experiences; manage and prioritize tasks from multiple overlapping projects and meet deadlines; seek out and participate in learning opportunities, apply to work, and help others grow professionally; address underlying causes of problems/patterns, recognize barriers, and solve or escalate appropriately; take ownership and hold oneself accountable; collect and analyze data and make data-driven decisions; and effectively communicate, teach, and build relationships with those unfamiliar with DEI issues.
