Provides guidance to support staff in billing and/or collections activities. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Recommends new and revised procedures as needed. The Commercial, Contract, and Managed Care (CCMC) Supervisor is responsible for the accounts receivable, billing and follow-up for all commercial, contract, and managed care payers. The CCMC unit adheres and complies with CMS, HMO and PPO payers regulations and guidelines pertaining to reimbursement. The units deal regularly with complex policy and procedural issues that involve contract compliance. The CCMC units' duties entail the following: ensure regulatory compliance, interpret and apply State and Federal laws, works closely with university entities and affiliated institutions to develop and assure the quality of the university's billing processes. It is also the unit's responsibility to communicate and coordinate with various UCSF departments, including other UCSF billing agents to ensure the quality of the university's billing processes.
