Berkeley Lab's (LBNL) Biological Systems and Engineering (BSE) Division has an opening for a Senior Research Associate to collect and process technical and research objectives related to microbial culturing, molecular cloning, and genetic transformations.
This project seeks to address the important and challenging task of developing new microbial hosts in complex environments, such as in bioreactors or in native plant-microbe root communities. In this role, you will directly contribute to bench-level experimental research involved in microbial strain engineering and optimization related to the development of synthetic fertilizers and/or bioremediation of toxic environmental contaminants and their impact on the root microbiome.
