Job Summary: The Ophthalmic Photographer is a specialized leader within the ophthalmology service. The Ophthalmic Photographer manages the day to day operations of the diagnostic ophthalmology services, provides high quality patient care, manages direct reports, and supervises and participates in the delivery of the local and national professional agenda within the ophthalmology team. The Diagnostician performs and supervises performances of all ophthalmic photography and diagnostic tests for the evaluation and management of ophthalmology patients. He or she also trains and evaluates clinic staff in the use, interpretation, and troubleshooting of Ophthalmic Diagnostic Equipment and test results. The Diagnostician participates in ophthalmic clinical studies and provides diagnostic services for physicians involved in clinical studies. He or she provides professional leadership through a strong visible clinical presence within the Ophthalmology ambulatory care area to provide a safe effective and high quality care environment for Patients and their families. Responsibilities: The Ophthalmic Photographer is expected to be an expert in performing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and interpreting the following equipment and other equipment:
Experience: 7+ years' experience post-graduation with 3+ years' within ophthalmology ambulatory care, required[KA1]. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of ophthalmic imaging, required. Strong presentation skills, staff and experience in patient's education, preferred. Education: High School diploma, required[KA2]. Certified specialized courses in Ophthalmic Bio-Medical Photography, Imaging and Diagnostics (preferred) Licenses / Certifications: Basic Life Support certification, required.
