About our client

Our client is a growing software company specialising in digital workplace solutions. They are backed by an established private equity investor who supports their ambitious growth goals. Currently, they are seeking a group CFO to join their management team and provide support throughout this journey. The group CFO will play a pivotal role in steering the company's financial success, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring the financial health of the organisation. The position will be located in Dresden, Germany, with flexible remote possibilities. What the job involves

  • Close, direct collaboration with and reporting to the group CEO with significant exposure to the private equity owner
  • Operational management of the Group finance and legal function, including the development of state-of-the-art financial processes, structure, and systems
  • Ensuring and continuously optimising Group financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Acting as the "commercial conscience" of the Group, ensuring compliance with key financial indicators
  • Supporting key decision-makers with up-to-date information in the sense of active "business partnering"
  • Optimising cash flow through effective cash and working capital management and proactive financial planning
  • Stakeholder management with financing banks and auditors
  • Strategically and operationally managing exit-readiness
  • Leading M&A transactions together with the group CEO within the targeted buy-and-build strategy, followed by the integration of acquired companies into the wider group
Who we are looking for

  • Excellent academic record, ideally with a focus on business administration, finance, accounting, or controlling
  • Several years of experience in a (senior) finance, Big 4, or consulting role with a clear track record of managing complex projects
  • Preferably, previous experience in the software and/or IT services sector
  • Experience with M&A and PMI is beneficial
  • Ideally, previous exposure to a private equity environment
  • Experience in international business environments is welcome
  • High affinity for numbers, above-average analytical skills, and extensive problem-solving skills
  • Strong client and quality-oriented approach combined with a high degree of initiative, enthusiasm, pragmatism (hands-on mentality), and a can-do attitude
  • Modern, inclusive, and empathetic leadership style
  • Fluency in both German and English
