The social worker serves as a primary point of contact with the partnering local Public Housing Authority, provides comprehensive social work services to homeless Veterans and their families enrolled in the HUD-VASH program, and ensures the Veteran's care is appropriately coordinated with the VA Medical Facility, community health or mental health providers, and agencies that serve homeless populations. They act as a liaison between VA and community resources. Possess a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited.
