Position Summary

The Director collaborates with other Nursing Leaders, Medical Directors, and portfolio leaders to advance strategy and operational direction for the Pediatric acute care units. This role coordinate efforts across departments and services by providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. The director facilitates an atmosphere of inclusive, situational leadership and the development of collegial relationships among department employees and other healthcare disciplines consistent with Children's values and Magnet model guiding principles. This position has a major responsibility for the implementation of the organization's mission, vision, values, code of conduct, evidence-based nursing practice, within their defined areas of responsibility and considering clinical needs of the population across the care continuum. They support the utilization of technology in care delivery, to improve access and service quality.

The Director of Pediatric Care Services has responsibility and accountability to ensure that services and programs provided in pediatric acute care units are patient/family focused, clinically excellent, operationally efficient, and achieve effective outcomes in clinical quality, safety, cost, experience, and staff engagement. The director will play a critical role in fostering a healthy working environment that is conducive to all employees and aligns with our principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. The director advocates for and maximizes the use of available resources to ensure the delivery of efficient, safe, and compassionate clinical care based on current standards of practice and evidence. They have accountability for nursing practice in all areas of responsibility and provides leadership to promote shared decision making.

The Director of Pediatric Care Services reports to VP of Critical Care / Neonatal Services
