 BLANK AST 3 (Purchasing Coordinator) Job Summary Department Purpose Student Housing and Dining Services (SHDS) is a self-supporting auxiliary that provides housing and dining services to approximately 15,000 undergraduate, graduate, and students with families who live in on-campus residential facilities (university owned/managed and Public-Private-Partnerships), as well as providing residential, retail and catering dining services for the campus community. SHDS also provides student support and conference housing services to the campus and general community. For more information about SHDS visit our website at http://www.housing.ucdavis.edu. Student Housing and Dining Services has adopted the following Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion statement: Job Summary Under general supervision of the Purchasing Manager, serve as a departmental purchasing resource for Student Housing & Dining Services (SHDS) & provide purchasing support to staff. With minimal direction from Account Managers, initiate purchase requests including gathering competitive costs & making vendor suggestions, researching vendors & determining if they meet department/university purchasing requirements. Research new or unusual services or supplies as needed. Place over $4 million dollars annually of Capital/Major Maintenance purchases & projects with complex specifications & deadlines. Review the terms & specifications for contractual agreements for SHDS Facilities. Maintain contract records & serve as a primary point of contact to Facilities Management, staff, vendors & other university departments. Direct shipment & receiving for the department. Serve as vendor contact to resolve complex issues & discrepancies. POSITION INFORMATION PHYSICAL DEMANDS
