DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The West Los Angeles Applied Technology Division of West Los Angeles College, (WLAC), seeks a creative faculty member with a demonstrated commitment to student success for a full-time tenure track position. WLAC offers the only Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved community college program in Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) in the city of Los Angeles. The successful candidates will exhibit a passion for teaching and will have an opportunity to lead a growing Aviation Maintenance program and to work collaboratively with the college's other departments to build an integrated program that offers multiple academic and/or professional pathways. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Capable of teaching all courses in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program. Note: The teaching schedule for the 2023-2024 academic year is Monday through Thursday from 6:50 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. or 2:00pm to 7:30pm, plus 5 hours 35 minutes per week office hours. Future schedules may include evening or weekend hours as part of the assignment.
MINIMUM DEGREE AND LICENSE QUALIFICATIONS: Degree qualifications All degrees must be from U.S. Department of Education recognized accredited institutions.*

SALARY AND BENEFITS Salary Range $72,990 - $135,620 commensurate with academic preparation and experience. The doctoral differential is $4,610 per academic year. District benefits include health, dental and vision insurance for the employee and eligible dependents and term life insurance for the employee.
