The BioGen Administrative Center is seeking a Financial Professional 3. The BioGen Administrative Center supports the departments of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development (GCD) and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics (BMBB). GCD and BMBB are joint departments with faculty and research staff having appointments in both the Medical School and the College of Biological Sciences. This role is responsible for financial management of sponsored and non-sponsored accounts from post-award to close-out. This includes: financial reporting, budgeting, balancing, reconciliation, monitor and analysis, effort certification, maintain financial records, problem identification and resolution, financial transaction audit and financial transaction approval and ensuring policy compliance with regards to funding agencies and U of MN policies and procedures. Job Duties: 45% - Financial analysis, oversight and management:

10% - Departmental Process Manager:
5% - Other duties: These could include ISO cost accounting, or other duties as needed to manage the accounting function in the dept. Year-end budgeting and input. Research discrepancies in accounting data which includes preparing for internal and external audits and analyzing a variety of fiscal data from multiple departments and/or colleges. Maintains the integrity of accounting systems and the chart of accounts; establishes new accounts, deletes obsolete accounts. Help w/special projects/events with project leaders, financial staff and outside agencies.
