Essential Functions

Audit of Financial Statements and Internal Controls

• Oversee and lead the efforts around the audit of our financial statements with external audit partners including, but not limited to quarterly reviews, interim procedures, annual planning procedures, and year-end audits
• Oversee and optimize internal controls to ensure JSOX compliance and coordinate with internal and external auditors to perform review and testing around the design and operating effectiveness of those controls
• Work across the organization to identify risks and the related key controls, mitigating controls, or gaps to be closed
• Continuous monitoring and refinement of key controls within Accounting and Financial Reporting processes and procedures
• Take ownership of General Ledger Financial Reporting controls, both in design and operations, ensuring appropriate mitigation of underlying risks and control performance

General Ledger Accounting

• Lead a team of accounting professionals to perform month-end close duties to ensure complete, accurate, and timely closure of the period
• Prepare financial statements for Bastian Solutions and subsidiary organizations each month, including related analysis and analytics on both financial and non-financial performance drivers to ensure management’s understanding of financial performance
• Partner with Project Accounting and Finance teams to identify potential issues and address accordingly
• Perform and lead day-to-day accounting functions

Strategic Leadership

• Perform all managerial functions for a team of accounting professionals across Corporate Accounting, Manufacturing Accounting, Accounts Payable, Tax & Compliance and Accounts Receivable & Credit
• Identify, hire, grow, and mentor key talent within the Accounting team – driving employee engagement and retention
• Supporting business initiatives by providing accounting and finance expertise and leadership associated with a complex and changing business climate
• Proactively identify critical impact factors, trends, and/or potential issues
• Identify areas of opportunity for improvement across the organization
• High level of organization and automation of accounting processes and tools; partner with ERP and IT teams to ensure the right systems and tools are in place
• Champion change and Kaizen efforts across the organization as we continue to grow and enhance our processes, procedures, systems, and controls

Other Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance and other business leaders to help provide appropriate support for budgeting and planning processes
• Manage cash, liquidity, and banking relationships
• Partner with parent company Accounting, Reporting, and Treasury teams to ensure compliance with Toyota Accounting Manual and consolidated reporting
• Coordinate with external partners for R&D Tax Compliance
• Take a primary role in the integration and implementation of acquired businesses into the financial systems and controls
• Perform additional assignments as directed
