The Mission Hills Community Services District Board of Directors offers an incredible career opportunity for a General Manager in beautiful northern Santa Barbara County. This opportunity is the result of the pending retirement of the existing General Manager.  This is an excellent career opportunity to manage the District’s experienced seven-member team that provides the community’s municipal services including potable water treatment, storage and distribution; collection, treatment and disposal of wastewater; and street sweeping.  The District is located in northern Santa Barbara County near the City of Lompoc and Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The Ideal Candidate will be an innovative, forward-thinking, and strategic leader with excellent project management, administrative and personnel management skills.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build and maintain effective relationships with the Board of Directors, internal staff, partnering agencies and the public.  Solid knowledge of water and wastewater issues, regulatory compliance, business practices and principles and government agency’s budgeting and accounting practices is highly desirable. Candidates should have an equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Engineering, Public or Business Administration or a related field and a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience. Experience with water and/or wastewater resources management, public agency administration, grant funding, managing public works projects and staff resources is required.
