Posted Job Title Bioinformatician A (Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) Job Profile Title Bioinformatician A Job Description Summary The Yanxiang Deng Lab (https://yanxiangdenglab.org/) at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine is seeking a skilled and motivated bioinformatician to join our team to analyze spatial omics datasets. This individual will be responsible for assuring the quality of sequencing data using existing tools, aggregating data into databases, creating relevant figures and statistical analyses on a per-project basis, and work with the lab members to submit sequencing data to publicly available repositories. Additionally, this individual will create and document reusable software tools that can be used across multiple projects, and perform data analysis to find biological patterns in a wide range of genetic and epigenetic sequencing. The bioinformatician will also assist with employee training for routine data quality control, analysis, and visualization. Finally, the bioinformatician will contribute to manuscripts, reports, and grant applications based on the biological significance of each dataset. Job Location - City, State Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Department / School Perelman School of Medicine Pay Range $51,824.00 - $78,000.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
