Reporting to the Director of Custom Programs within Wharton Online, the Associate Director of Custom Programs is responsible for implementing and managing custom online programs for Wharton Online learners around the world. This position is the primary delivery representative to Wharton Online custom clients and has direct responsibility for assuring the quality and delivery of the online courses and supporting custom client relationships. The Associate Director of Custom Programs works to incorporate UX design best practices prior to overseeing successful delivery and management of online courses.

Additional tasks include: supporting the Director of Custom Programs and Director of Instructional Design and Content Strategy in conducting needs assessments to identify learning objectives; collaborating with Wharton Online technology team to support custom client security needs; understanding and managing elements of online platforms; organizing post-program debriefing and leading revision process based on client/learner feedback; supporting outbound business development strategy.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Salesforce proficiency is strongly desired as well as extensive knowledge of online education, client relationship management experience, executive education, and global business challenges facing today's corporations. Successful candidates will have strong attention to detail, a high service-oriented nature, and the willingness and flexibility to operate in a continually changing and growing team environment.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Manages custom client relationships and ensures effective design, delivery, and management of existing and new custom content. Liaises and communicates directly with faculty; internal instructional design, course management, and technology teams; and external partners to ensure quality content, programming, and experiences for learners and clients. Assists with conducting and synthesizing needs assessments for new client programs and engagements.
Regularly assesses program feedback and provides feedback analyses to Director of Custom Programs to measure outcomes against broader strategic goals. Collaborates with Director of Custom Programs and instructional design team to revise recurring custom engagements as needed.
Manages project timelines for custom engagements in collaboration with Director of Custom Programs and Director of Project and Content Management.
Supports outbound strategy developed by Director of Business Development by researching and reporting new business opportunities to Director of Custom Programs.
Represents Wharton Online to external and internal partners, including faculty, Senior staff, and technology partners.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree is preferred. 1-2 years' experience in classroom teaching (online and/or in person) is preferred. Experience in using Canvas preferred. Willingness to learn is required. Familiarity with instructional design principles helpful. Ability to work with a diverse set of individuals in a customer-facing situation required. Flexibility in scheduling and working hours required in order to support online courses which run 24/7.
