Sciences Grants Administrator Posting Details POSTING INFORMATION | Internal Title | Sciences Grants Administrator | Position Type | Classified | Faculty / Non-Faculty / Administration | Non-Faculty | Pay Band | 7 | Level | 5 | Department | School of Natural and Environmental Sciences Admin | Job Purpose | The Sciences Grants Administrator (SGAdmin) provides pre- and post-award support to faculty of the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences; School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics; and the School of Health Sciences by working on matters related to the preparation, management and close-out of externally funded grants, in accordance with funding sponsor and Federal, state, and institutional regulations and procedures. | Minimum Requirements | Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of experience in a university grants office are required. Knowledge of federal agency regulations, policies and procedures, circulars, laws, and federal acquisition regulations applicable to sponsored programs. Knowledge of grant monitoring procedures. Working knowledge of 2 CFR 200, including subrecipient monitoring and management provisions. Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational policies and procedures. Ability to review and assess complex grants. Mid- to sophisticated-level skills in Microsoft Office and business intelligence products such as Tableau, Cognos, or similar. Ability to maintain discretion for confidential information and appropriately handle critical information and sensitive situations. Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines. Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and procedures that govern major federal and non-federal sponsors and ability to interpret those for relevant faculty and staff. Understanding of research administration roles and responsibilities for internal and external resources. Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, and project management skills. Proficiency with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite). Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
