University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF09680 SUMMARY OF ORGANIZATION/UNIT The UCLA Ed&IS Department of Information Studies is a powerhouse in an increasingly vital field. The Department is home to UCLA's iSchool. The international iSchool community is dedicated to advancing the information fields. iSchools promote an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the opportunities and challenges of information management, with a core commitment to concepts like universal access and user-centered organization of information. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Department of Information Studies at UCLA seeks to hire temporary, part-time lecturers to teach within the MLIS graduate program. Course(s) may include the following, and the lecturers may also be assigned additional courses according to the instructional needs in the department and in conformity with departmental lecturer workload policies: CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, and the writing and grading of assignments and exams. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A Master's in Library and Information Science or related discipline is required by date of hire. SALARY RANGE: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 15. The salary range for this position is $68,247 - $91,719. APPLICATION MATERIALS
