The Student Programs Coordinator for Research, Access, and Academic Engagement (RAAE) will support RAAE's first generation initiatives under the First To Go Program and the LMU McNair Scholars Program. The Student Programs Coordinator will perform duties to assist with the growth of the First To Go Program and the McNair Scholars Program. The coordinator will work directly with the Associate Director, First-Gen Initiatives and Assistant Director, McNair Scholars Program. Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Plan programs and events for the First To Go Program and corresponding LLC and the LMU McNair Scholars Program. Programs and events include workshops, retreats, conferences, weekend events, etc. Support McNair and First To Go with student advising and conduct proper student referral procedures, as needed. Oversee the development and monitoring of alumni engagement activities for McNair and First To Go student programs, including chairing alumni advisory boards. Assist in the creation and maintenance of First To Go's and McNairs' student advisory board, including the chairing of the student board. Assist with planning and instruction of various program courses for First To Go and McNair. Serve as liaison to LMU Housing Office regarding logistics for the First Gen Forever, LLC and the LMU McNair Scholars Program and coordinate with LMU Housing Office to conduct programming for in-residence students. Assist with coordination of all student travel opportunities including AB Trips, Study Abroad immersion, conferences, and local travel during the First To Go and McNair Scholars Summer Retreats and Orientation. Serve as lead on various on and off campus outreach events. Represent LMU, First To Go and McNair with conducting class visits, tabling opportunities, campus tours, panels, workshops and professional organizations. Oversee marketing and promotion including maintenance of program webpage, online resources, newsletters, and social media as requested by First To Go and McNair. Provide support with daily First To Go and McNair administrative tasks such as expense reporting, maintaining program e-mail, event logistics, and purchasing. Assist in the development of resources and materials for First To Go and McNair. Draft reports when requested, perform other duties as assigned or requested, and collaborate with all RAAE programs as needed.

Demonstrated knowledge in classroom instruction, programming, and advising are essential, with prior experience at a college or university learning center, program, or organization. Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information. Must be able to compose and word-process effective, error-free correspondence (e.g., emails, reports) to students, faculty, and staff. Must keep detailed, accurate records (e.g., student files). Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment and possess strong interpersonal skills, strong communication, and organizational skills. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse groups including students, faculty, administration, and staff.
