Learn more about the UC Office of the President Department Overview As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment. Position Summary Support UCOP data network and services including data centers, AWS cloud network services, wide area/metro area/local area networks. The incumbent manages operational reliability and performance of existing buildings and wide-area networks and quickly resolves any network service interruptions that occur. As required by business changes, extends and enhances the company network. May be required to implement new configurations in AWS, data centers or desktop environments. This position works as part of a Network Engineering group. May require travel outside of normal business hours. Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation Key Responsibilities 40% Advanced knowledge of Network and Security operations, systems, and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation. Participate in the development of new projects with high levels of complexity and broad enterprise-wide scope. Performs complex and advanced analysis to define and document requirements, tasks, dependencies, costs, risks, and timelines. Work with business and IT partners to develop and implement new systems and functionality: Configure enterprise Network and Security protocols. Lead application testing and recommend workflows and processes to support Network and Security designs and new development. Analyze current documentation and data flow requirements to reflect appropriate workflow. Ability to interview users to interpret and document current state environment. Work on complex initiatives to plan, develop, and define information technology solutions for improved system integration and functionality. Provide consultation to business partners to recommend technology solutions. 25% Resolve technical challenges utilizing interpersonal leadership skills. Direct team members to ensure proper implementation of project deliverables related to analysis, testing, and training. Lead problem and issue resolution as part of a team. Act as the primary liaison for operational planning related to workflow, testing, deployment, and training. Work independently with minimal direction. Provide guidance and recommendations for improvements in quality, efficiency, and functionality. 25% Researches, recommends, and designs large and complex institution-wide adoptions, deployments, and technology transitions. Participates in project planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of information systems that support operations and organizational strategy. Develops complete data/information documentation for highly complex Network projects. Understands and applies Network industry practices, community standards, and department policies and procedures in depth. May serve as technical lead for multiple projects of moderate to broad scope. Implements and maintains Network and Security project plans. 10% Act as the IT point of contact for questions, Network and Security support, and system maintenance. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and perform regular system maintenance during off-hours and over the weekends as needed. Experience Required Qualifications

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
