As a result, we are hiring a Clinical Staff Leader RN for the Holding Room/PACU.JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Staff Leader is a direct supervisory leadership role and a key member of the Nursing leadership team. The CSL leads a cohort of staff members and actively participates in overall management of the unit, development of clinical practice, and provision of patient care with accountabilities for implementation and outcomes for people leadership, quality, service, compliance, finance, throughput and scheduling. The primary focus of the Clinical Staff Leader is to ensure the unit's optimal performance by engaging in effective problem solving for staff, patients and families and to develop/lead the assigned cohort. The Clinical Staff Leader provides feedback and coaching to staff members, recognizing them for their contributions while fostering a high performance culture. The CSL works under the guidance and direction of the manager to develop. . SHIFT Four 10-hour shifts in the Mon-Fri window. Qualifications -Bachelor's of Nursing Degree -Valid Nursing License -at least 1 yr of relevant experience -Critical Care nursing experience highly preferred -at least 1 yr of PACU or perianesthesia experience highly preferred -CAPA or CPAN certification highly preferred DEPARTMENT SUMMARY The environment in the Holding Room/PACU is friendly and family oriented. Leadership is supportive of personal and professional staff growth. We have many experienced nurses with ICU backgrounds. Staff is supportive of each other. They readily welcome and share their knowledge with all new nurses. They are eager to help when needed. We care for adult patients who electively or emergently are having surgery. Our patients may be having simple procedures that allow them to go home the same day or may be undergoing complex surgeries that will require them to be cared for in an intensive care setting. Surgery is a unique place in healthcare. After surgery, patients' lives are changed. There are many advantages to working in VOR Holding/PACU. New Graduate Nurses receive support from experienced clinical staff leaders and from staff. We have a flexible scheduling system with a variety of 9-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts. Staff can have the opportunity to connect with multiple patients and families every day and at the most vulnerable and critical time in their lives. Our nurses are successful because we maintain a strong Shared Governance structure. Our Unit Board meets every month. Staff work with leadership addressing all aspects of their practice to improve the care of patients, of families, and to increase satisfaction in their work environment. Our approach to the orientation of new nurses to the VOR Holding Room/PACU is competency-based. New nurses are provided with a 12-week orientation with a dedicated preceptor. WE ENCOURAGE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH.Professional development, opportunities, and interests are discussed during orientation and throughout the year during performance conversations.
