Job Summary: | This position will conduct research on fruit crop physiology under the supervision of Dr. Amaya Atucha. Responsibilities include the design and execution of research projects related to the role of environmental stress on the development of cranberry fruit rot disease at the Cranberry Research Station and the Atucha lab in the UW-Madison campus; work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists as part of a national grant on cranberry fruit rot and coordinate research project with collaborators at UMass and Rutgers University; prepare progress reports to present at stakeholder and scientific meetings; and author peer-review scientific publications from research project.

- 25% Collects and analyzes research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures under general supervision and limited responsibility
- 15% Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities
- 5% Attends and assists with the facilitation of scholarly events and presentations in support of continued professional development and the dissemination of research information
- 5% Writes or assists in developing grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
- 5% Serves as a main point of contact and liaison with internal and external stakeholders providing information and representing the interests of a specialized research area
- 20% Study metabolic components such as carbohydrates and organic acids in response to heat stress.

However, final salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
