Job Description General Summary This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses who have greater than 12 months experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the interdisciplinary team. Clinical Practice: Provides independent care to unit specific patient population; serves as clinical resource for others, utilizes and integrates evidence into practice, functions effectively in roles specific to unit (such as charge nurse, etc.).
Serves as an effective primary nurse; collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs.

Company Description We're making Maryland stronger! The Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute helps people with a spinal injury achieve their highest level of independence. Patients receive physical, occupational, speech/language and recreational therapy six days a week. Patients admitted to the inpatient portion of the Spinal Cord Injury Program must be able to actively participate in three or more hours of daily therapy. The length of stay for spinal cord injury patients is between two to eight weeks depending on individual needs. Over 80 percent of our patients return home after discharge. The Spinal Cord Injury Program places a strong emphasis on patient/caregiver education and is one of only two facilities in Maryland accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
