Accountant

• Preparing, review, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Assist in documenting accounting procedures and controls
• Conduct moderately complex assignments involving accounting projects and the day to day maintenance of a general ledger
• Identify inconsistencies and problems and communicate them to management
• Perform appropriate accounting controls
• Participate in month-end closing, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities
• Routinely interact with internal and external customers
• Perform various work assignments under limited supervision

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Broad knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
• Excellent computer skills including Excel
• Experience with SAP ECC or S4
• Experience with Utilities
• Effective communication, interpersonal and customer service skills –
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• High degree of personal initiative and self-motivation

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

• 3-4 years of general accounting experience or 1 year of experience working in public accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required
