Spiritual Formation Program Covenant Group Mentor: Lecturer, Part-Time, Temporary A/Y 2024-2025 Seminary Location: Waco, Houston, San Antonio Open Date: Jun 24, 2024 Deadline: May 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description: The covenant group mentor serves a vital role in accomplishing the learning outcomes of Truett's Spiritual Formation program by shepherding students, teaching practical wisdom, asking good questions, and modeling Christ-like character. At the conclusion of the spiritual formation program, covenant group mentors help students to: 1. Articulate a basic understanding of the processes and goals of spiritual formation and discipleship in relationship to God's story and one's own story. 2. Demonstrate a commitment to a life of intentional spiritual development and accountability to spiritual companions and mentors. 3. Provide mutual encouragement and support for a diverse group of individuals by listening and responding with empathy and spiritual discernment in small groups. 4. Exhibit a commitment to self-awareness and self-assessment as a disciple of Christ who is being formed for service to God in the world. 5. Integrate disciplines of prayer and other forms of practice into daily life and describe the implications for personal spiritual formation. 6. Develop a personal covenant in collaboration with others close to them in order to discern a path of vocation and devotion in their relationship with God. To accomplish these outcomes, the covenant group mentor will: Qualifications: Masters level degree, specialized knowledge in the area of spiritual formation, and/or significant ministry experience.
