Salary/Pay Range: $43,967 - $50,000. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
Work Location: The work location for this position is in-person. Based on the semester-to-semester need of the department, as determined by the supervisor, candidates may be asked to teach online, if applicable.

Summary
Assist in research developing genetic tools for the filamentous cyanobacterium Nostoc punctiforme, including the following: perform laboratory experiments, assist in developing training materials and writing manuscripts for publication, order and manage laboratory supplies, mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Essential Functions
- The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform laboratory experiments to generate and test a high-throughput transposon library and CRISPR-based tools for the filamentous cyanobacterium Nostoc punctiforme
- Assist in the development of both written and video based protocols for the genetic manipulation of Nostoc punctiforme
- Assist in writing of manuscripts for publication
- Order and manage laboratory supplies
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
