Student Housing is a self-funded, large and complex campus department consisting of 6 housing communities and 3 support units, with more than 280 staff employees, 300-400 student employees and an annual operating budget of $120 million. Student Housing provides housing for approximately 9,000 undergraduates, graduate students and their families in over 250 buildings and approximately 3.3 million sq. ft.
Currently, Student Housing houses 51% of UCI's enrolled students (in conjunction with American Campus Communities, UCI's 3rd party housing partner) with a goal of housing 60% as part of the campus Long Range Development Plan. Student Housing also provides maintenance and repair services to student residents.
Your Role on the Team
Under the guidance of the lead Student Housing Accounts Counselor (SHAC), provides information, consultation and support services on matters relating to Housing financial accounts to students and parents. Conducts routine review of residential student account information to ensure accuracy and refers issues detected to SHAC for further evaluation. Supports the development of communications and web content to inform and educate clients with respect to their financial responsibilities and obligations to minimize account delinquencies. Provides administrative support to SHAC lead in preparing documentation for legal actions. In absence of SHAC lead, serves as point of contact for outside legal representation and the Sheriff's Department/Marshall's Office in the service of documents and evictions on all Housing related cases. As necessary, may be required to appear in court, along with appropriate Housing management, as UCI Student Housing's representative in legal actions, including subpoenas. Assists in the maintenance of records on students eligible for housing assistance from the Orange County Housing Authority. Conducts follow-up, as directed, to ensure the completion of required paperwork to ensure compliance with program regulations. Assists in the maintenance of records on students seeking approval for Emotional Support Animals in Housing. Refers students seeking financial assistance to campus departments that support local, state, and federal programs (e.g., Emergency Rental Assistance Program sponsored by the City of Irvine). Applies (and releases) financial, academic, and meal plan holds on student Housing accounts, as directed. Provides, upon proper authorization, verification of residency information regarding current or former on-campus residents to off-campus apartment leasing offices and to representatives of federal, state, and county agencies. Participates in planning and development for the Housing Management System and an updated financial processing model to replace the legacy system. Provides back-up support to front-line customer service functions in Housing Admin Services.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $28.49- $31.92 (Hourly).
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- BA/BS or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years in student support services in a related capacity
