Department Name: 14000:Office Of Development Job Summary: UK Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Gift Accounting and Data Specialist in the Office of Gift Receiving. The Gift Receiving Gift Accounting and Data Specialist will report to the Assistant Director of Gift Receiving and be responsible for maintaining gift and data integrity for the University with a primary focus on gift recording and accounting, advancement fee processing and cash handling operations. This individual will review all gift and pledge data to ensure accuracy, facilitate advancement fee processing on daily gift batches, prepare JV transfers for corrections to gift deposits and/or fee assessments, manage log for tracking the receipt of gifts/commitments and maintain on-line storage of all gift and pledge batch documentation. Additional advancement fee responsibilities include assisting colleges with documentation for journal vouchers by providing gift reports upon request, advising on the processing of journal vouchers for corrections and identifying training needs or opportunities related to the University advancement fee. This position will coordinate Gift Receiving operations to ensure positive workflow and the integrity of donor gift records. This position requires an understanding of UK Philanthropy gift policies and procedures, IRS charitable donation acceptance regulations as well as a knowledge of university accounting principles, fundraising practices, industry best practices and established data standards. This individual must have the ability to work quickly and accurately with detail in a busy environment with frequent calculating, a variety of interrelated tasks and sustained concentration. The Gift Accounting and Data Specialist will work cooperatively as a member of the Gift Receiving team to promote a positive work environment and model excellent customer service. Skills /Knowledge/Abilities: Working knowledge of gift cost center, fund, document and account reconciliation transactions in SAP. CRM database and reporting experience preferred. Proficient or higher ability in performing complex tasks in Microsoft Office Excel and Word. Position Time Status: Full-Time Required Education: MA Required Related Experience: 3 yrs Required License/Registration/Certification : None Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelors' degree plus four or more years of related experience preferred.
