Department Name: H4018: CH/GS Hospital Administration Job Summary: The Infection Control Coordinator is a registered nurse who will oversee the management of the infection control processes and monitor, and promote compliance. This person will be responsible for: developing and implementing systems to monitor infection prevention and control measures; designing data collection and analysis processes; as well as managing the daily surveillance, regulatory compliance, outbreak management, and performance improvement processes throughout the Enterprise. Utilizes nursing experience & clinical knowledge to educate and monitor best practice in patient care as it pertains to prevention of hospital-acquired infections. This person will be required to present IC educational material as well as the healthcare-acquired condition data in a clear, concise, professional manner. This nurse is required to maintain an active nursing license. This position will also collaborate with outside IPAC departments and others to develop applied epidemiology curricula and materials, as well as review all project and work is conducted by scientific quality and appropriateness. This position will also be responsible for the compliance of all UKHC, state and federal regulations/policies and other external agencies for epidemiology and public health policies. On-call duties and work outside normal business hours required based on departmental or enterprise needs. This position requires CIC certification within 3 years of hire. Position Time Status: Full-Time Required Education: BSN Required Related Experience: 3 yrs Required License/Registration/Certification : Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Education/Experience: MSN preferred.
