Job Summary: | This position is located in the Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH), Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health (BEOH), Hazard Assessment Section and is maintained through a contract and ongoing partnership with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health's Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS).
BEOH is committed to ensuring each person can breathe clean air, drink clean water, and grow up, live, and work in healthy spaces. BEOH leads with prevention, focusing on safe environments and healthy communities and working collectively with partners to recognize, evaluate and control environmental public health hazards.
This position will lead outreach activities for BEOH's Radon and Indoor Air Program, including developing and implementing communications strategies, and building and maintaining robust statewide public health partnerships related to radon and indoor air. | Responsibilities: | Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget. - 25% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
- 15% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
- 15% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
- 10% Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
- 5% Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
- 10% Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- 10% Plan, coordinate and evaluate statewide meetings and conferences related to radon and indoor air quality
- 10% Solicit, collect, analyze and disseminate stakeholder feedback on policies related to housing and radon abatement contractor certification

Skills & Abilities: - Ability to develop, implement and evaluate communications plans and social media campaigns for public health initiatives. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working with many different audiences (such as epidemiologists, researchers, policymakers and the public). - Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with a wide-variety of statewide, regional and local agencies, organizations, community groups and individuals. - Ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications. | Work Type: | Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%
