Posted Job Title Associate Director of Student and Academic Affairs Job Profile Title Associate Director B, Academic Affairs Job Description Summary The Associate Director of Student and Academic Affairs will work closely with the Director of Administration to independently manage a flexible portfolio of ongoing and emerging projects related to academic planning, including developing and implementing systems to streamline and improve departmental operations. Specific responsibilities will include coordination of teaching assignments for multiple programs within the department, overseeing the hiring process for part-time faculty, and working closely with the Director of Administration on academic year course planning and scheduling for multiple programs within the department to deliver a roster of over 100 courses in an academic year. The Associate Director will lead departmental operations on the highly complex and dynamic process of space planning, scheduling, and delivery of Architecture reviews for approximately 60 studio sections across multiple programs. This involves coordinating with multiple faculty to understand the program needs and demands careful attend to detail, strong organizational skills, and oversight of all logistics. The Associate Director, in coordination with the Department's Faculty Admissions Director, will manage the application process and coordinate the time-sensitive distribution of financial aid. During the admissions cycle, this task requires frequent updates and organization of information using Excel spreadsheets and Slate admissions software; ensuring that all data and records are accurately maintained is crucial for the admissions process to run smoothly. The Associate Director will maintain student records for a caseload masters students (including incoming, current, and graduating students); and assist masters students towards degree completion; assist with the advising enterprise of the Department; and serve as the Department specialist for NGSS/Pennant and reporting. The Associate Director will manage the studio travel process by working closely with the Chair and faculty directors as well as coordinating with Penn Global to plan and deliver studio travel for up to 80 third-year masters students and up to 15 faculty during fall and spring semesters.
