 University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF09829 UCLA Extension is considered one of the top programs of its kind, offering to more than 35,000 students per year approximately 4,500 classes and non-degree certificate programs to meet the professional development, continuing education, and personal enrichment needs of the full spectrum of nontraditional students as well as companies and organizations throughout and beyond the Los Angeles region. Course / Program Description This course is intended for individuals involved in import operations, including classifiers, import team members, supervisors, and managers; those working in customhouse brokerage and freight forwarding; and owners of trading companies. Topics include entry of merchandise; warehousing; foreign trade zones; the liquidation and protest process; appraisement and the customs concept of value; informed compliance; customs account management strategies; intellectual property rights, fines, penalties, and forfeitures; drawback; NAFTA; record keeping; and corporate compliance program management. Job Description The Department of Business, Management, and Legal Programs offers over 350 professional courses and 17 certificate programs that are designed to meet the needs of business professionals at all levels, including those who want to update their skills, change careers or prepare for industry certifications or exams. Our programs are designed to provide flexible enrollment options for students to initiate their professional development anytime during the year. Through our commitment to academic excellence, professionals can acquire the skills and knowledge they need to face a world of continual change. We seek instructors who are world-class experts in their field with extensive hands-on experience as community leaders and working professionals. Applications to teach are accepted throughout the year in order to fill immediate program needs and to increase the depth of the instructor pool.
