The Ohio State University Health Sciences Center – with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Optometry, Public Health and Veterinary Medicine all in close proximity – is adjacent to the tremendous resources and expertise of The Ohio State University campus in Columbus. This proximity fosters collaborations with other university departments, which makes Ohio State unique in the United States in its potential to promote scientific partnerships and the direct translation of research discoveries into new medical therapies and technologies. John J. Warner, MD Chief Executive Officer, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Executive Vice President, The Ohio State University
John J. Warner, MD, became chief executive officer of the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and executive vice president at Ohio State in April 2023. One of the nation’s foremost leaders in academic medicine, Dr. Warner is advancing Ohio State’s vision of health care transformation to meet the needs of the growing communities we serve across Ohio and the nation.
Dr. Warner leads the Wexner Medical Center’s research, education, and patient care mission across seven hospitals, an expansive and growing network of outpatient care centers, a nationally ranked College of Medicine, more than 20 research institutes, a faculty group practice, an accountable care organization and a health plan.
Jay Anderson Chief Operating Officer, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Jay Anderson became the chief operating officer for the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in July 2021. At Ohio State, Jay is responsible for leading the execution of the vision, strategy and overall performance for all clinical enterprise operations – including all seven hospitals, as well as the ambulatory services division – and he works to ensure alignment, collaboration and consistent implementation across the medical center. He guides appropriate resource utilization and service line efficiencies, as well as oversees the delivery of consistent patient experiences and the highest quality of care and outcomes, with a focus on affordability and accessibility. Additionally, Jay helps us grow a comprehensive health platform, with services and capabilities ranging from telehealth to enhanced community, home-based and remote health, and a broad range of acute and specialty care for patients at the bedside.
Mark Conselyea Interim Senior Vice President of Administration and Planning, The Ohio State University Mark Conselyea was named the interim senior vice president of the Office of Administration and Planning on July 1, 2024. As interim SVP, Mark is responsible for oversight of the Department of Public Safety; Facilities Operations and Development (FOD); Planning, Architecture and Real Estate; Transportation and Traffic Management; UniPrint; and WOSU. Mark is also the vice president for FOD, a role he’s held since 2019. Mark’s experience in health care operations, strategic planning, facility planning, design and construction, finance, policy, and leadership dates to 1991. Scope of Position
The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s associate vice president for Facilities is a senior-ranking position and is part of the operation’s executive team. He/She has a direct reporting relationship to the chief operating officer for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and the senior vice president of Administration and Planning for The Ohio State University. Responsibilities include all Ohio State Wexner Medical Center-owned and -leased research, academic and office spaces, including The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, East Hospital, Ohio State Harding Hospital, University Hospital, ambulatory sites, as well as oversight over all health sciences’ space, in general. This position will work with senior leaders of the university and the medical center to ensure planning is collaborative and integrated as One University.
Position Summary This position will have responsibility for strategic leadership and decision-making authority for all Wexner Medical Center facilities space. This includes space assignment, maintenance, planning, design, development, and renovation of all administrative clinical, teaching and research space. Job Relationships
Supervisory Responsibility: Two senior director, one facility management director, one business operations analyst and one executive assistant; department also has several senior facility planners, planners, interior designers and students.
Responsible to: The chief operating officer for the Wexner Medical Center and the senior vice president of Administration and Planning for Ohio State.
Duties and Responsibilities
40% - Medical Center Expansion Administration
40% - Leads all development, design, construction and renovation projects and staff space allocations
10% - Facilities operations
