Program Leader for Safety, Security, Health, and Wellness University Housing University Housing within the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Program Leader for Safety, Security, Health and Wellness. The PLSSHW is responsible for the training, inspections for public safety operations, and daily supervision of the University Housing Call Center, as well as leading, organizing, managing and maintaining the departments fire and life safety programs to provide a safe, secure and healthy work and living environment for employees, students, and residents. University Housing has the capacity to house over 8,500 residents in 15 on-campus residence halls each academic year. The department has a close working relationship with a variety of Student Life units and academic offices on campus. Former staff members of University Housing are employed by over 90 colleges and universities throughout the US. The Position: The PLSSHW will provide input to the Assistant Director regarding safety and security installations to ensure they follow OSHA guidelines and NFPA 25. Additionally, the PLSSHW will manage our HAZCOM inventory, as well as SDS (Safety Data Sheets), eyewash safety, sheltering plan, severe weather response, industrial powered vehicles, warehousing safety, lockout tagout, and Knox Box program. This position maintains the fire and life safety program, CCTV records and metrics, and interfaces with external regulatory agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction, such as TOSHA, and fire officials. The PLSSHW also accepts accountability for life & safety results and outcomes. Responsibilities: * The PLSSHW assists with investigations for accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning safety, security and health (including industrial hygiene hazards). * Enforces security protocols to establish safe living environments, through the use of key controls, card access, CCTV, alarms and landscape management to control site lines. * Enforces safety policies that align with campus, State, Federal regulations. * Assists with evaluation of atmospheric conditions utilizing technical equipment and industry standard procedures.
