To make an impact as an RN at UF Health Shands Hospital, you will:

• Identify alterations in patient health, assess patient response to treatment and communicate that data to physicians.
• Implement nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols and anticipate potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications.
• Make the patient, their family and people significant to the patient an integral part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts whenever possible.
• Supervise care provided by licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel and assigning or delegating care to others on the health care team.
• Work collaboratively to establish a culture of trust, where nurses are committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care.
• Provide and coordinate care, supporting the organization's mission of excellence and the nursing vision of autonomous, accountable practice; patient advocacy; and innovative care in a collaborative, trusting environment.

To achieve excellence as an RN at UF Health Shands, we’re looking for candidates with:

• A current RN license to practice in Florida.
• BSN and professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire.
• Nurses without a BSN must obtain their certification within three years of their hire date or at the eligibility date for certifications requiring more than two years of experience.
• Current BLS.
